When it comes to NFL teams, the idea of addition through subtraction is something that gets thrown around during an offseason, but doesn’t usually come to pass. It takes a unique set of circumstance for a team to get better, simply because someone is no longer on their roster. But the Steelers tight end room might have that circumstance this year, where Jonnu Smith departed, and will no longer be taking snaps away from more-deserving players like Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington.
