It’s the question every NFL fan had back in December when San Francisco 49ers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell refused to come into a loss to the Los Angeles Rams: why did he quit on his team, something we’ve seen from other athletes over the years?
In an expletive-filled rant on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Campbell had a lot to say … without really saying much of anything.
There’s a whole bunch of expletives from the tweets in which he said he had yet to address it “because I know the truth and don’t care to clear anything up.” He ripped retired players who had criticized him.
And then he said this: “I ain’t addressing [expletive]. I’m rich and never have to work another day of my life. … I play because I WANT TO.”
There you have it. We didn’t get the real reason, but he hinted at it.
