The Detroit Lions training camp report dates for 2025 have been revealed.

As expected, the Detroit Lions are going to get a head start on training camp ahead of all but one team. This spring, the Lions opted out of two weeks of OTAs and three mandatory minicamp practices in order to accommodate for being in an extra preseason game—the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, July 31.

“For whatever reason, the league year started one week later than it normally does. That, and then we have the Hall of Fame Game. So, the combination of those, you bleed the offseason into this, and then you bring them back a week early—it was just, it just didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel like it was fair to our players,” coach Dan Campbell said.

To counterbalance the missed time, the Lions will be reporting to training camp a few days before every team except their opponent in the Hall of Fame game (the Los Angeles Chargers). Lions rookies will report to training camp on July 16, while veterans report on July 19.

As you can see in the chart below, that gives the Lions a three day jump on most teams—essentially replacing the missed mandatory minicamp this spring.

Early this week, the Lions announced 10 training camp dates that will be open to fans for attendance. Those sets of practices begin on July 26. You can see the entire list of those dates here.
