It’s finally time to kick off the Detroit Lions’ 2025 season, and, man, what a game to start their campaign.
The Green Bay Packers have stolen all of the headlines for the past two weeks after their blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons. Not only did Green Bay temporarily become a bigger favorite in their Week 1 matchup against the Lions, but they now have the best odds to win the entire NFC North.
The Lions have a chance to quiet that talk in a hurry. Detroit is the two-time holder of the NFC North crown, and they’re returning most of their starters from their 15-2 season last year. However, there has been a fixation on two big changes this year: new coordinators on both sides of the ball, and some fresh bodies on their interior offensive line. Change isn’t always a bad thing, but it certainly brings some uncertainty to the Lions’ 2025 season.
But, again, Detroit can put some of those doubts to bed with a strong opening to the season. A win over the Packers would give the Lions their fourth-straight win in Lambeau, an early jump on the division, and send a message to the rest of the NFL that their Super Bowl window is far from closed.
