We had to wait a little bit longer than normal, but it’s time for Detroit Lions football!
The Lions are in Cincinnati for a bout with the Bengals. Cincinnati is in the midst of some strife, seeing as they lost star quarterback Joe Burrow to a toe injury earlier this year. In his place, Jake Browning has led the Bengals to an 0-2 record over the last year, with Cincy getting outscored 76-13 against the Broncos and Vikings combined. Can the Bengals stop the slide against the Lions, or is this only the beginning of their slide.
Detroit comes into Week 5 on a three-game winning streak, but they’re dealing with two notable injuries that could even the scales of this matchup. Cornerback D.J. Reed, who has had a great start to the year, is out for at least four games with a hamstring injury suffered last week. That leaves Terrion Arnold—who has gone through some early struggles—and Amik Robertson likely to start on the outside. Additionally, left tackle Taylor Decker has been declared out, meaning the Lions are likely to start 2024 third-round pick Giovanni Manu for the first time in his career… opposite Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
Can the Lions continue their winning ways, or are they on upset alert against a desperate Bengals team?
