Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears first half live discussion
Pride of Detroit Pride of Detroit

Time to close up shop on the 2025 Detroit Lions season. No one is happy with how things are ending, but at least there’s one more day to watch our team play. And, even better, the eight weeks that follow can be spent on cleaning things up and getting better for the 2026 season ahead.

The stakes are boringly low for both the Lions and the Chicago Bears. Detroit is just playing for pride (and draft position). The Bears are playing for the difference between the second and third seeds in the NFL playoffs.

No doubt the NFL schedule-makers were hoping for a lot more drama. With Bears coach Ben Johnson facing off against his former team, there would be a ton of potential storylines if both teams were jockeying for the division title. But with the Bears already celebrating their NFC North title and the Lions likely already booking flights home, we’re left with a glorified preseason game.

But good luck finding a player on either team treating it that way. Neither coach has shown any interest in resting starters, and that’s because each team has players filled with competitive nature. Any opportunity to take the field is another chance to dominate the competition and flash your own skills.

So if that interests you—or if you just want to hang out with some Lions fans for one more gameday—you’ve come to the right place.
