Detroit Lions cornerback Morice Norris was taken away in an ambulance after suffering an apparent neck injury in Friday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, prompting officials to suspend the game.
On the opening play of the fourth quarter, Morice Norris suffered a serious-looking injury while trying to tackle Nathan Carter on a running play. Noticing that he was seriously injured and not getting up, trainers moved quickly to help Norris.

He was taken away in an ambulance, and players on both teams gathered together to pray for his well-being. A decision was made to suspend the game after Norris’ injury, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

We’ll provide more information on Morice Norris’ status when it becomes available. We hope he avoided a serious injury and will be released from the hospital soon.
The 24-year-old Norris signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State last year. He appeared in two games, primarily on the special teams unit.
