Detroit Lions teammates flooded social media with reactions to Kerby Joseph’s record-breaking extension.

On Wednesday evening, news broke that Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph has agreed to a four-year, $86 million extension. The average per year of $21.5 million is now the highest in the NFL among all safeties. It’s fair to say that his teammates are pretty excited about it.

Across Twitter and Instagram, several of Joseph’s teammates—both past and present—celebrated the news.

Let’s start with the defensive back room. Joseph is close to the fellow members of the Lions secondary, even regularly hosting them all for “Thursday Night Football” during the season. So it’s no surprise they’re all thrilled for him.

Joseph’s safety-mate Brian Branch, who may be in line for an extension next offseason, reacted on Twitter:

Terrion Arnold had a few messages he dropped on his Instagram story:

Newcomer D.J. Reed may just be getting to know Joseph, but he’s clearly excited for the young safety:

And cornerback Amik Robertson was one of the first to react:

...and he made sure the people over on Instagram heard him, too:

The Sonic and Knuckles duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs also shared their excitement over on Instagram:

While Christian Mahogany just had a small request for Joseph.

Fellow bag-getter Penei Sewell can now commiserate with his multi-millionaire teammate:

And a few former Lions pitched in, as well:

Former Lions RB Jermar Jefferson:

Former Lions DB Ifeatu Melifonwu:

Former Lions cornerback Darius Slay:

Former Lions safety Quandre Diggs:

Later in the evening, Kerby Joseph gave his own reaction to the news, and it’s as fantastic as you were probably expecting:
