The Detroit Lions beat the Washington Commanders on the road in Week 10 NFL action. The game saw a number of explosive moments.

One pertained to a rogue fan from the home crowd attempting to run onto the field. Rumors of a sideline argument with Lions punter Hogan Hatten have since circulated on social media.

The road team made quick work of the Commanders by jumping out to a 22-3 first half lead. From there, they cruised to a 44-22 victory.

Frustrations boiled over for a Washington defense that was gashed for 546 total yards. The 44-point total tied for the most allowed by the team this year.

During the game, defensive tackle Daron Payne threw a punch at wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. He has since been suspended for one game.

As a leader of Washington’s defense, Daron Payne should know better than to throw a punch on the field. He should be suspended. There is no place for this in sports. pic.twitter.com/A5YMmmyrZ0

The fireworks appeared to trickle onto the sidelines, too. A Washington fan was seen jumping out of his seat and onto the field before being taken down by security.

Rumors that he’d been seeking out a Detroit player quickly surfaced.

Hogan Hatten spoke to an opposing fan.

Video of Hatten’s conversation with crowd members was posted to social media. A fan in the area was later seen leaping onto the field.

A narrative of revenge quickly developed. Did Hatten antagonize the Commanders crowd?

The long snapper denies any involvement. He posted clarification to his Instagram story after seeing the clip go viral.

The video going around suggesting I was arguing with a Commanders fan before he rushed the field is inaccurate. I did not speak to that person at all during the game. I struck up a fun conversation with a young fan, who you can’t see sitting in front of him in the first row, and ended up giving him a ball after the game!

Hatten insists that he was not spatting with opposing fans. His interaction with the Washington crowd was a positive one! He says the bad fan behavior was in no way, shape, or form related to his conversation.
