Detroit Lions fans project top reserve WRs for 2026

Earlier this week, we published our latest SB Nation Reacts survey, sponsored by the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook. We asked Detroit Lions fans which reserve wide receiver they think will fill the WR4 role now that rookie Kendrick Law is out indefinitely with an ACL tear.

For this week’s question, we provided fans four options—Greg Dortch, Dominic Lovett, Jackson Meeks, and Tom Kennedy—to choose from, while also allowing them an “other” option in case they felt strongly about an under-the-radar candidate.

Let’s take a look at the results from our survey:

As expected, the veteran free agent acquisition easily seizes the majority of votes in this survey, but the fact that the next three receivers after Dortch were so closely grouped together suggests this is going to be a fun position group to watch in training camp. In fact, based on the conversations in the comment section of our original article, all four of the reserves have a legitimate shot of rising to the occasion. Let’s take a closer look at a few of those comments to get fans’ explanations for their selections (slightly edited for clarity).

• turn2dd: “My bet is Greg Dortch. His familiarity with Petzing (and vice versa) makes great sense; he has produced when needed; he’s versatile on offense and special teams; he’s logged 5 years in the NFL at 5’7″ and 175 pounds, so there is TRUE GRIT. With Law out and Leaf gone, Dortch steps into a nice role and gets it done.”
• nrs001: “Dortch probably has a leg up on everyone with his experience, but I imagine it’ll be an open competition.”
• Xlgrev: “I’m going with Lovett, you can’t coach 4.4 speed.”
• icd8u2: “Not many receptions left for WR 4 when you have St Brown, Jamo, TeSlaa, Laporta and Gibbs. I went with Meeks for his blocking ability; I could see us using him in a WR/TE role to help the offensive line early until they gel.”
• Toreyj01: “Would be nice for Kennedy to finally make the 53. He has earned it, especially since he has embraced ST play of late.”
