We’re through the first quarter of play at U.S. Bank Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Detroit Lions by a score of 7-0.
(This is going to be an abbreviated version of the usual recap, because I listened to it on the radio while driving home from work. My apologies.)
The Vikings took the opening kickoff and went three-and-out. The Lions then punted the ball away on their first possession and the Vikings moved into Detroit territory and Max Brosmer got sacked, forcing the Vikings to punt it away as well.
Then, after a successful challenge by the Vikings, Jared Goff fumbled a snap on third down and Andrew Van Ginkel recovered it in the Detroit red zone for a turnover.
The Vikings took advantage of the turnover, as Aaron Jones took it into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown to put the Vikings ahead, 7-0.
And that’s where we stand as we move to the second quarter. Detroit has the ball near midfield.
We’re through the first fifteen minutes at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the Vikings lead the Lions, 7-0. Come join us for the second quarter of play, folks!
