Entering NFL Week 11 with an 8-2 record, one would think that the Denver Broncos wouldn’t have anything to complain about. After all, Denver is tied for having the NFL’s best record, and they boast the league’s third-best scoring defense.
Yet, despite winning their past seven games, things haven’t always gone smoothly on offense. In fact, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, some of the team’s players are”concerned” about the team’s scoring attack this season.
For the record, the Broncos rank 17th in scoring this season, and their 23.5 points per game average is slightly lower than last season’s, when Denver averaged 25 PPG.
Though, with the Broncos scoring 10 and 18 points in their past two games, players are right to express their concerns. They also scored just 13 points in a narrow two-point victory over the Jets in Week 6. Add it all up, and that’s a lot of ugly for a team with plans to go on a deep playoff run.
The important part is that the Broncos do whatever they can to fix their shortcomings in the second half of the season, before the playoffs get underway. Now that the trade deadline has passed, the Broncos can only hope to improve from within. Yet, with a Super Bowl-winning head coach like Sean Payton, Denver should be in good hands.
