The Denver Broncos have a new member of their Ring of Fame adding one of the greatest wide receivers in team history, Demaryius Thomas.

The Denver Broncos have announced a new member to their Ring of Fame. The legendary Demaryius Thomas will join those hallowed grounds as the newest member of a storied franchise’s Ring of Fame.

In 2010, the Broncos drafted Thomas a few spots before Tim Tebow. The two were stars of the Broncos’ incredible 2011 magical season and one of the greatest moments in franchise playoff history took place that season when Tebow hit DT for a walk-off game-winning touchdown in overtime to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, Thomas would never have had the career that ultimately landed him in the Ring of Fame without having a pass-focused quarterback like Peyton Manning come to town.

I remember back in 2014 we covered how good DT had become matching receiving marks only set by two other players at the time: Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison. He went on to smash those numbers. His run from 2012-2016 of 535 catches for 7,332 yards and 51 touchdowns was one for the ages. Only one player has ever had a better five-year span in NFL history and that was Jerry Rice.

Thomas passed away suddenly in December of 2021 and his loss is still felt in Broncos Country. That he was inducted into the Ring of Fame in his first year of eligibility speaks volumes to how the organization still views him and his legacy with the franchise. His induction will be more than just an addition of another name to the Ring. It will be a celebration of the life and accomplishments of a man that did so much in so short of a time.
