David Carr got inside info on Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza

The Las Vegas Raiders revamped the quarterback room in 2026, adding Kirk Cousins and drafting Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza is the hope for Raider Nation, as he aims to turn around the franchise after years of losing.

Of course, fans want an update on his success and how quickly he can develop. On the Carr brothers’ Home Grown Podcast, David Carr spoke with QB coach Mike Sullivan about his development and was pleased with what he heard.

“It’s a process… That’s basically what the conversation was like… [Sullivan] is going to be right there with Fernando every day digging into the work. I already know Sullivan digs into the tape. They’re prepared. That’s one thing they’re going to be is prepared and he’s extremely happy with what’s happening with Fernando. But, like you said, it’s a process. Long way to go, and so that’s all I wanted to find out from him.”

Cousins is the number one quarterback as of now, and it could be leading into the season. However, the preseason will be a chance for Raider Nation to see if Mike Sullivan is right about his development so far.
