When the Indianapolis Colts named Daniel Jones their starting quarterback for the 2025 NFL season ahead of Anthony Richardson, everybody laughed.
Richardson, the fourth pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, clearly wasn’t going to be the franchise quarterback the team had hoped for. And Jones, himself a seemingly failed former top-10 pick, looked like it represented the Colts resigning themselves to a long and arduous season.
Well, two weeks later, nobody is laughing. That is, except for Indianapolis, which is 2-0 and looking like a potential juggernaut on offense, led by the aforementioned Jones.
How good have the Colts been on the offensive side of the ball? Well, they just made NFL history.
Through two weeks, including a Week 2 victory over one of the NFL’s best defenses in the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis has yet to punt the ball.
No team in the Super Bowl era of the NFL can make the same claim.

That’s right. Not a single team in the Super Bowl era had gone its first two games of an NFL season without punting. That is, until the 2025 Indianapolis Colts, led by Daniel Jones.
Just as we all suspected.
In the two victories, Jones has completed 71 percent of his passes for 588 yards and two touchdowns to go along with three rushing touchdowns.
“I feel confident and there’s a great energy about our team, about our offense, about our group,” Jones said after Sunday’s win. “I think we’re executing at a high level.”
We’d say so.
The scary thing is that Jones thinks the Colts’ offense still has room to improve.
“I think there are still things we need to do better,” he continued. “You look at some of the red zone stuff today and things we can sharpen up down there, things I can sharpen up.”
If the Indianapolis offense isn’t done improving, the Colts could go from a presumed bottom-feeder to a real problem for the rest of the AFC, if not the NFL as a whole.
