Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was back at Soldier Field cheering for the Bears. Patrick made a very public return to her NFL roots Sunday night, attending the Bears–Rams NFC divisional playoff game in Chicago. This is the team she grew up rooting for.
Patrick, who was raised in the Chicago area, has a father who is a longtime franchise supporter. She has previously spoken about how closely her family followed the team. Her allegiance changed a bit when her personal life became intertwined with one of the Bears’ biggest rivals.
During her relationship with longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Patrick flipped to cheering for his team. She even publicly disavowed the Bears and embraced Packers fandom in 2018. Danica Patrick even told Jimmy Kimmel she was “the biggest Packers fan” at the time.
Things have changed since then. They broke up, and she returned to cheering for the Bears by 2020.
On the sidelines in Soldier Field, Danica Patrick posted herself rocking a cowboy hat while being bundled in winter wear.
Patrick, a Wisconsin native, was raised a Bears fan by her father. Despite dumping them for years over her relationship with Aaron Rodgers, she was back cheering for them.
Unfortunately, she could not bring the good luck with her.
The Los Angeles Rams had to be deflated after Caleb Williams pulled off one of the most remarkable highlights in NFL playoff history. Williams had a wild fourth-down touchdown pass with the Chicago Bears’ season on the line to tie the game.
He did that with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Williams threw an interception to Rams safety Kam Curl, and the Rams would go on to win the game with a field goal.
Danica Patrick and thousands of Bears fans went home upset.
