Dan Quinn spoke to the media for the first time since returning from their road game against the Patriots. The Commanders were blown out in New England, losing 48-18. Quinn said the team has reviewed the tape, gone over what went wrong, and worked on correcting the mistakes. He said the team will look a lot different when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football next week.
OT Lucas Niang tore his ACL during Friday night’s game against the Patriots, and he’ll miss the season. He was signed over a week ago, and Quinn said he had a good start with the team. Washington worked out 14 players after practice including 7 LBs. Quinn was asked about competition at kicker after Matt Gay missed a field goal on Friday night. He said that’s not where they’re at right now. Gay went 4 for 5 in today’s practice, missing a 38-yarder.
