The Washington Commanders are back on the practice fields today, after an extended break following Thursday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. Dan Quinn spoke to the media before practice kicked off, and confirmed that Jayden Daniels won’t participate today. It was reported earlier that his backup Marcus Mariota would talk to reporters instead as he deals with knee sprain. He continues to be day-t0-day, and they will monitor him throughout the week and determine when he can practice and play again. Quinn wants to see Daniels practice before making a game status determination for Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Quinn opened with some semi-good injury news. CB Jonathan Jones was placed on IR today after suffering a hamstring injury vs the Packers. He will need to miss at least four games, but he is expected to return later this season. TE John Bates and WR Noah Brown both suffered hamstring injuries on Thursday night, and it’s been trending towards them not playing on Sunday. They’re not practicing today, but Quinn praised Bate’s blocking and said that would be hard to replace. He seemed more optimistic about Bate’s this week, and called it a long-shot for Brown to be ready by Sunday.
