Dan Quinn spoke to the media before practice today. He started the presser by giving WR Santana Moss some praise as he prepares to get inducted into Washington’s Ring of Fame. He also named the team’s captains for Week 1. He will continue his practice of naming captains every week instead of the traditional season-long captains. QB Jayden Daniels, LB Bobby Wagner, and LB Jeremy Reaves were all very important to the team’s success last season, and they get highlighted for that in the first game.
Quinn gave an injury update before the team released today’s official injury report. He said that WR Noah Brown(knee) and CB Jonathan Jones(hamstring) both had vet rest days after being limited in practice all week. They, along with the rest of the team, are good to go for Sunday’s home opener against the New York Giants. The Commanders open the season with a healthy team, and a lot of expectations after getting to the NFC Championship game in Year 1 of a major organizational overhaul led by team owner Josh Harris, GM Adam Peters, and Quinn.
These guys represent the standards we stand for in our locker room, and so many remarkable examples of leadership. They lift others up, and they speak in the times that leaders do. So it’s cool to have them.
