Dan Quinn was back behind the microphone before the Washington Commanders started their short week practice schedule. They are back home and hosting the Philadelphia Eagles for the first of two games between the NFC East rivals over the last three weeks of the season.

Quinn announced yesterday that QB Jayden Daniels was getting shut down for the season. He’s still not medically cleared, and won’t play, despite wanting to get back on the field. Daniels said he’s frustrated, but he understands the decision since he’s not medically cleared from the elbow injury that he reaggravated two weeks ago. Daniels talked about wanting to get back in the Vikings game, “Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. Things changed when stuff settled down.”

Dan Quinn also gave some injury updates on a few other players. DE Drake Jackson was activated from IR two weeks ago, but has been limited when he practiced. He’s cleared now, and could be making his debut with Washington soon.

Laremy Tunsil left Sunday’s game against the Giants twice due to injuries, first his shoulder, then his oblique. He’s not practicing today, and they’ll need to see him on the field this week to determine his game status. Quinn also said the team doesn’t plan on activating any more players from IR this season.
