The banged-up Dallas Cowboys have been dealt another injury blow, with veteran wide receiver Jonathan Mingo expected to miss several weeks.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Jonathan Mingo suffered a PCL injury last week and is expected to miss at least a month of action. If that timeline proves accurate, he’d miss the club’s Weeks 1 and 2 games against the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, respectively.

Mingo’s injury news is the latest bad break for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, who learned last week that they’ll be without veteran offensive lineman Rob Jones for all of 2025 with a neck injury.
Days before news of Jones’ injury, the Cowboys placed veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell on the season-ending injured reserve.
The Cowboys acquired Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the Carolina Panthers at last year’s trade deadline in exchange for a fourth-round pick. After the move, Mingo admitted he was “blindsided” by the transaction, per Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys’ team website.
Mingo showed promise as a rookie in 2023 with 43 catches for 418 yards. But after a sluggish start in Carolina last year, Mingo struggled with his new team in Dallas, catching just five passes for 46 yards.
The 24-year-old Mingo is essentially fighting for the No. 3 receiver role in Dallas, with CeeDee Lamb and newcomer George Pickens occupying the top two spots.
But the Cowboys’ WR depth is thin outside of Lamb and Pickens, and their running back room (led by Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders) is arguably the worst in football. So with limited playmakers around him, Dak Prescott could very well build a strong rapport with Jonathan Mingo.
