After contract talks stalled, Micah Parsons wants to be traded from the Dallas Cowboys.

Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys on Friday via his personal X account.

In particular, Parson’s statement included the following: “I no longer want to be here. … I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys.”

In an offseason in which fellow edge rushers Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt landed new extensions, Parsons and the Cowboys don’t appear to be engaging in such talks anymore.

If nothing happens, Parson is set to play out the fifth-year option on his rookie contract in 2025, which is $24 million.

The star pass rusher released a lengthy statement Friday, detailing his frustrations with the team’s approach to negotiating his next contract.

“Yes, I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet,” Micah Parsons said.

“I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this America’s team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA. Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here,” Parsons wrote on social media. “I no longer want to be held to closed-door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans, and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me.”

Parsons ended his note by confirming he submitted a trade request to team COO and co-owner Stephen Jones.

The Cowboys selected Parsons with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he instantly became one of the most fearsome edge rushers in the league.

Will The Cowboys Actually Trade Micah Parsons?

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons has officially requested a trade after posting a note to his social media pages.

Parsons’ trade request came hours after The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported his relationship with the Cowboys had “deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures, which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team.”

The team might acknowledge his trade request, but they most certainly do not have to do anything.
