The Dallas Cowboys released their first unofficial depth chart of the season on Tuesday. Here it is. Feast your eyes.
It doesn’t take long to realize that the first unofficial depth chart of 2025 is pretty chalk for the Cowboys. The starters are listed as most fans would have laid out and predicted. For what it’s worth the team did couch things a bit at wide receiver and linebacker by inclusion of the infamous “or” at certain spots.
The NFL requires teams to submit an official depth chart ahead of their preseason games and once upon a time you could legitimately take things away from them; however, in our current day and age there is so much gamesmanship at play from club to club, and teams are trying to protect certain players who they eventually want to stash on their practice squad. They know that people are going to read into things and keep that in mind during assembly.
If we must have a hard takeaway from this then I suppose it is that Marshawn Kneeland is at starting defensive end opposite of Micah Parsons, but even then this feels like something that wasn’t surprising.
