In case you missed it this weekend, the Dallas Cowboys still somehow found a way to get into the news regarding some details about that trade Dallas made with the Packers and Micah Parsons.
It made me laugh a little bit actually, when you think about it, it makes sense on the surface, but when you dig into it a bit deeper, the thought of the Packers making this deal and then flipping him again to an NFC East team.
So what does this exactly mean?
Both the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys included “poison-pill conditions” in the trade that sent Micah Parsons to Green Bay and Kenny Clark to Dallas before the start of the 2025 season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and other media outlets.
Both teams used the condition to prevent outgoing players from eventually ending up back in the division with rivals.
The Packers, if they trade Parsons to the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants or Washington Commanders at any point during the 2025 or 2026 seasons, would have to send a first-round pick in the 2028 draft to the Cowboys.
The Cowboys, if they trade Clark to the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions or Minnesota Vikings at any point in 2025 or 2026, would have to send a first-round pick in the 2028 draft to the Packers.

Like I noted above, it makes sense on the surface, but when you actually read that, why would the Packers turn around and trade Parsons after making this blockbuster deal?
It is more realistic honestly for Dallas to trade Kenny Clark back into the NFC North, they won’t do it, but at face value that would make more sense, so I understand the point of the poison pill, it just made me laugh a little bit.
For some reason the media picked this up this weekend and it was being talked about when it shouldn’t have been.
The sooner this fan base moves on from this trade, the better, need to focus on trying to do whatever they can to finish the year, they play five teams .500 or better to finish the year, but with the trades they made, I might enjoy 2026.
This defense is just broken beyond repair. The Cardinals looked like the best offense in football against Dallas, and couldn’t pick up a first down against the Seahawks yesterday.
It is just annoying to watch that happen every single week after a team plays the Cowboys defense.
