Dallas Cowboys NFL mock draft 2026: 7 rounds of projected picks
Blogging The Boys Blogging The Boys

For the second year in a row the Dallas Cowboys finished with a losing record, managing only seven wins in back-to-back seasons. They have a lot of work to do this off-season to hopefully right the ship and get back to their winning ways. Their main objective seems to be upgrading the defensive side of the ball, which was historically bad in 2025.

While it still remains to be seen who will replace Matt Eberflus as the Cowboys new defensive coordinator in 2026, that won’t stop any of us speculating as to how the organization will navigate free agency and the NFL draft in April. With that in mind, we thought we did attempt to predict who Dallas could target in the draft using Pro Football Focus‘ draft simulator.

As Dak Prescott would say, “Here wee gooo…”.

1.12 EDGE David Bailey, Texas Tech

It’s presumed David Bailey will be selected at some point in the Top 10, however, in this exercise he was still sitting there with the Cowboys on the clock and we didn’t hesitate to draft him. The 6’3″ 250-pound pass rusher is exactly what the Cowboys need at the position. Paired with Donovan Ezeiruaku, he’d give Dallas a much needed young, talented pass rushing duo they can continue to build around for years to come.

TRADE: 1.20 for 1.28, 3.70

1.28 CB Brandon Cisse, South Carolina

With Trevon Diggs no longer in the picture and with DaRon Bland’s future health in question after yet another foot surgery, cornerback is a major need for the Cowboys. Brandon Cisse is considered by many a fringe first-round prospect right now, but will likely see a stock rise the further along we get in the draft process. At 6’0″, 190-pounds, he possesses the size and length Dallas prefers at the position in their starters on the outside.

3.70 LB Jake Golday, Cincinnati

Linebacker is one of the positions the Cowboys brass have identified as an offseason need, and fortunately for them in the 2026 LB draft class is a pretty good one. Jake Golday would help upgrade what the Cowboys deployed at the position in 2025. At 6’4″, 240-pounds, he possesses the size, talent, and skill set to not only start as a rookie, but be an immediate impact player and building block from the get-go.

4.112 S Zakee Wheatley, Penn State

Donovan Wilson is a free agent and Malik Hooker could potentially be a salary-cap casualty. The Cowboys haven’t put much value in the safety position in years, but regardless it remains an offseason need. At 6’2″, 205-pounds, Zakee Wheatley is someone who can come in and challenge to start as a rookie in Dallas. He has the versatility to play in the box or deep, which makes him pretty scheme diverse.

5.150 RB Mike Washington Jr., Arkansas

The Cowboys have already reached out to open contract negotiations with Javonte Williams in the hopes of locking up him on a multi-year deal, but that...
