Dallas Cowboys Make Trade to ‘Address Shortcomings’

All teams have until Tuesday, 4 p.m. ET to swing deals before the NFL trade deadline arrives. The Dallas Cowboys‘ biggest blockbuster occurred just before the season kicked off, when they sent Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for two first-round draft picks. However, the Cowboys have reportedly now made another trade.

News outlets haven’t gotten wind of the specifics yet, but Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones revealed that his team has swung a trade that has yet to officially be announced. Jones wouldn’t get into specifics either, so we still don’t know which player(s) and/or pick(s) are involved. He only admitted that the deal “addressed shortcomings” on the Cowboys’ roster.

Jones revealed that the deal hasn’t been announced yet because the team has yet to submit the paperwork with the league office. He even said the Cowboys could still complete two more trades before the deadline passes.

That could be anything, but the Cowboys have had a big pass-rush void since dealing Parsons. Perhaps they’ve swung a trade for another sack specialist? Two from the Dolphins may still be available, with rumors suggesting Bradley Chubb and/or Matthew Judon could be on the move. Others are surely available too.

Either way, expect the move to address one of the team’s weaknesses on defense, which enters Monday night’s matchup with the Cardinals allowing the NFL’s second-most points per game.
