The Dallas Cowboys are getting set for the 2025 season, but they aren’t the only ones. They are getting set for a long year.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are also getting set for an important year.

Faith Ward, a DCC rookie who made history as the first New Zealander to make the team, turned heads during training camp for many reasons. She wore her hair in a slicked-back ponytail instead of down, which cheerleaders are known for wearing at games.

In multiple TikTok and Instagram posts, Ward has been spotted rocking a perky ponytail while sporting the DCC uniform.

Now, the New Zealander is addressing the question on everyone’s mind of it will be sticking around.

During a July 21 interview with ABC Perth, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader said she understands why people have been curious.

“It’s crazy because obviously the DCC hairstyle is hair out, fluffy, voluminous, luscious, long locks. I’ve, you know, broken that stereotype,” she said.

The cheerleader then explained how the ponytail hairstyle came about in the first place.

“So, I’m in rehearsal one of the days with my hair out, and I am, you know, sweating after doing ‘Thunderstruck.’ (DCC Director Kelli Finglass is) looking at me and she’s like, ‘You know what? I really want to see what your hair would look like tied up,” she recalled.

How Social Media Users Reacted To The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader’s Hairstyle

“the pony is iconic but like how is she allowed to have it like that,” one TikTok user replied.

“Y’all are allowed to wear ponytails? I assumed everyone was required to wear their hair down,” a second fan stated.

“Of the over a decade I’ve seen MTT there’s never been a girl in a ponytail. Why does she get to? She’s beautiful, tho,” a third person said.

“No pony! It’s the DCC way. If she is the only one, it will look weird. This is not college,” a fourth fan stated to the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.

“Girl, the hair needs to come down 😭 it looks sooooo much better down,” a fifth fan wrote.

“Why does Faith have her hair up?” a sixth fan asked.
