Dak Prescott will have a new wide receiver to work with next season.

George Pickens is now a member of the Dallas Cowboys after the team sent the Steelers a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick in exchange for the wide receiver.

Pickens is the most notable acquisition Dallas has made since trading a first-round pick to the Raiders in exchange for wide receiver Amari Cooper in October 2018.

The second-round pick in 2022 is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

He comes with a ton of controversy, which could possibly disrupt the locker room.

So, how does Dak feel about it?

A week after the Cowboys traded a third and fifth round pick to the Steelers to acquire wide receiver George Pickens, quarterback Dak Prescott spoke for the first time about his new teammate and offensive weapon.

“I’m excited,” Prescott said on The Ticket.

“You turn on the tape, you see a guy who can catch the football. You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50/50 catcher. He thinks it’s his ball when it’s in the air. I’m excited for him. I know we needed some help at that position. … It’s hard to double team two guys. … I think we’re putting together a nice group of weapons.”

Pickens is expected to completely change the dynamic of the Dallas Cowboys’ offense. When Prescott was healthy last year, the wide receiver position fell short at times. CeeDee Lamb was the only plus.

Pickens will instantly shift into the WR2 role and, based on Prescott’s description, bring something different than Lamb.

Last season with the Steelers, Pickens had 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns.

Dak Prescott would take those numbers any day of the week.

Dak Prescott Has Everything He Needs To Succeed, But Will It Be Enough?

Last week, the Cowboys acquired Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers for two future draft picks.

The team has essentially fixed the stagnant offense to ensure they will be better in 2025.

Coming off a 7-10 season, the Dallas Cowboys will have an uphill battle to compete in the NFC East.

The Eagles are the defending champs, and the Commanders are coming off an NFC Championship appearance.
