🏈 The Pittsburgh Steelers are ranked 17th in ESPN’s early power rankings for 2025.
“Yet again, the Steelers enter an offseason with uncertainty at the most important position. Team owner/president Art Rooney II said he prefers to sign either Justin Fields or Russell Wilson to a multiyear deal, but the team would also evaluate quarterbacks in the 2025 or 2026 draft,” Pryor wrote. “The QB decision will affect the rest of the roster construction. Can the team afford to pay a top-tier wide receiver? Will it use the first-round pick to bolster the defensive line? It all starts with the decision at quarterback.”
🏈 Former Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson thinks the Steelers have to become more modern offensively.
“I feel like Pittsburgh needs to shake up the offensive style a little bit. The way they’re calling plays, it’s still in the ’90s,” Peterson said on All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson. “Now, you want to be a little bit more innovative. I won’t necessarily say trick plays, but have a little bit more spice in your offense. A little bit more eye candy, having some motions, having some shifts, and things like that to be able to get your playmakers involved in the game.”
🏈 CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson thinks the Steelers have a lot of work to do in order to become contenders in January.
“You have to surround Wilson with playmakers. Whether that means trading George Pickens and finding the answers at wide receiver with another two or three players, that has to be done because you’re not gonna win football games playing the way they did last year when your best player in George Pickens isn’t on the field,” Wilson said. “I hesitantly go with Russ Wilson, with the understanding that there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to make this team a legit team capable of winning in January.”
