🏈 Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith visited SCI Fayette with five of his teammates on Tuesday to discuss reentry with the population—including Smith’s brother, who is incarcerated at the facility.
The Steelers—including Pat Freiermuth, Matt Sokol, Connor Heyward, Corliss Waitman, and Calvin Anderson—met with a small group to discuss their reentry plans before meeting with a larger group in the gym. The large event began with a presentation by Bruce Harris and David Conway of Community Kitchen, an organization supported by the Steelers that hires reentrants for culinary careers.
Their presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session with the Steelers where attendees asked a wide range of questions about life and football. Many employees proudly wore their black and gold and also attended the event in the gym.
