🏈 The founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers Art Rooney Sr. was born on this day in 1901. Rooney, who was also known as β€œThe Chief,” was well respected by his peers and throughout the NFL. He embodied the Steelers Way throughout his life.

🏈 On this day in 1969, the Steelers hired Chuck Noll as their head coach. Noll went on to lead the Steelers to four Super Bowl titles in the 1970s. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993 after a 23-year career as the Steelers head coach.

🏈 On this day 1970, the Steelers drafted quarterback Terry Bradshaw (No. 1 overall) and cornerback Mel Blount in the third round (53rd overall). Bradshaw and Blount both won four Super Bowl titles with the Steelers in the 1970s and were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 1989.

🏈 Ben Roethlisberger also officially announced his retirement on this day in 2022 after an 18-year career as the team’s quarterback. To say the least, Jan. 27 is a historic day in Steelers history with Art Rooney Sr., Chuck Noll, Terry Bradshaw, Mel Blount and Ben Roethlisberger all having a significant moment on the day.

🏈 Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz thinks Pittsburgh is just doing the same thing over and over again at the quarterback position.
