🏈 The Steelers’ Week 1 opponent, the New York Jets, acquired defensive tackles Harrison Phillips and Jowon Briggs in separate trades on Wednesday.
The Jets traded two sixth-round picks (2026 and 2027) and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for Phillips, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The trade is pending a physical.
Phillips joins Jowon Briggs as the second defensive tackle that the Jets traded for on Wednesday. The Jets announced they dealt a 2026 sixth-round choice to the Cleveland Browns for Briggs and a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Phillips, 29, is projected to start alongside All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams in the Jets’ base 4-3 front.
ESPN sources: Vikings are trading DT Harrison Phillips and a 2027 7th-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick and a 2027 6th-round pick, pending Phillips’ physical.

🏈 Wednesday marked the 41st anniversary of when the Steelers cut Franco Harris. Terry Bradshaw had some choice words for the organization.
“A man who was without a doubt the most unselfish football player I’ve ever known. … It’s a shame the Steelers turned their backs on Franco because it took some of his heart away and it was an improper way to treat a true here,” Bradshaw said.
