The ACC will have a different buzz around it this season, one familiar to New England Patriots fans.

Despite the drama around his relationship with Jordon Hudson, Bill Belichick is expected to lead North Carolina to a new era. It will be the first time fans see the 73-year-old navigate the college football landscape. However, Dabo Swinney welcomed the former Patriots head coach with a lighthearted attitude.

“We play the New England Patriots this year,” Swinney told ESPN’s Rece Davis, per Pro Football Talk. “We go to North Carolina, and then we go to Boston College to play (former Patriots offensive coordinator) Bill O’Brien. So, I feel like I’m playing the whole Patriots organization in about a two-week span there.”

The Clemson head coach jokingly added that he had the “secret sauce” to beat New England since former Patriots punter Ryan Allen is the Tigers’ specialists coach.

Swinney’s attitude might be attributed to the offseason, or the 55-year-old might understand he’s the top dog that needs to be beaten and not Belichick.
