We had an overwhelming winner...
In this week’s poll question, we asked which new player for the New Orleans Saints are you most looking forward to seeing play this season:
After 532 votes, rookie QB Tyler Shough took home a large majority of the votes with 62.8% coming in for the Saints second-round pick. Shough is the highest drafted quarterback in over 50 years for the Saints, and is currently competing for the starting job with the retirement of Derek Carr. Despite being the 40th overall pick, Shough is still a bit of an unknown commodity, as he only completed just one full college football season before turning pro. Shough has the arm talent to be a good starter in the NFL, and will get plenty of opportunity in New Orleans to prove any doubters wrong in 2025.
Earning the second most votes was the Saints top pick Kelvin Banks, Jr. Like Shough, Banks, Jr. should find himself in the starting lineup this season at tackle. Banks hopes to follow last year's top pick Taliese Fuaga in solidifying the Saints edge protection, especially since he will be protecting a QB with little or no NFL experience depending on who wins the QB battle in camp between Spencer Rattler and Shough, although if I were to bet, it is likely we will see a good amount of both QBs this season.
Which new Saint do you think will contribute the most to their success this year? Let us know in the comments below.
