Cris Collinsworth Finally Admits To Patrick Mahomes Bias: ‘I Don’t Care’

One of the most common criticisms of NBC NFL announcer Cris Collinsworth is that he seems to harbor some bias toward Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. And now, Collinsworth has finally admitted to having having some bias toward Mahomes.

While speaking on Kay Adams’ show in the wake up Super Bow LIX, Cris Collinsworth — who played wide receiver in the NFL for eight seasons (1981–1988) with the Cincinnati Bengals — admitted to not caring what people say about the way he covers Mahomes.

Collinsworth added he’s one of the best players the league as ever seen.

“Honestly, I don’t care if anyone thinks I like Patrick Mahomes, because I do. I do like the guy. He’s been one of the most phenomenal players we’ve seen in the league for a long, long time,” Collinsworth said.

Mahomes certainly wasn’t the otherworldly quarterback that NFL fans have come to expect during Super Bowl LIX,s he and the Kansas City Chiefs offense got absolutely obliterated by the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense.

In the Super Bowl LIX loss to the Birds, Mahomes completed 21 of 32 passes for 257 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Those stats are a bit misleading, however, as all of the Chiefs’ three touchdowns in the 40-22 loss came within the final 14ish minutes of the game, when the result was already long determined.
