The 2025 season kicks off tonight with an NFC East showdown between the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and their rivals from Texas, the Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones shipped off some of the game’s expected star power when he traded perennial Pro Bowler Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys still have Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, and a May trade brought them another offensive weapon in George Pickens, but their defense — now led by former Bears head coach Matt Eberflus — will struggle to get after the quarterback.
The Eagles have a stacked roster on both sides of the ball, and they blew the Cowboys out last year in both games by a combined score of 75 to 13, but those were without Dak. The only chance Dallas has would be if Prescott can put up Madden-like numbers, but I don’t see them having enough to hang with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and the Philly offense, or be able to score enough on Vic Fangio’s defense.
