The Cowboys are gearing up for their clash with the Commanders, getting back to the comfort of their own home after two straight road games saw them go 1-1. We knew there were several big names coming back from injury for this one, but with the inactives list now released, those players’ returns are now official.
Let’s start with the good news. CeeDee Lamb is officially back, which is sure to provide a huge boost to an offense that’s been lighting up the scoreboard even in his absence. Also coming back to the offense are KaVontae Turpin and Tyler Booker. On defense, Caelen Carson was activated off the injured reserve and will make his season debut, and Jack Sanborn is also set to return after missing last week’s game with a concussion.
On the flip side, Trevon Diggs is inactive for this game after suffering a concussion away from the team. Details remain unclear, but he’ll be out for this one. Juanyeh Thomas, who recently moved into a starting role following Malik Hooker’s injury, is also a surprise inactive with a migraine. They join the inactive list alongside Trevor Keegan, Ajani Cornelius, Jay Toia, and Marshawn Kneeland.
Toia being made an inactive means that Mazi Smith, who was a healthy scratch last week, is back in action. So, too, is running Malik Davis, who was called up from the practice squad for this game.
As for the Commanders, their two biggest inactives were announced earlier in the week. Their top two receivers, Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, were previously ruled out with injuries. That’s huge for a Cowboys defense that’s been ailing all season long.
