A blockbuster trade proposal has the Dallas Cowboys sending Micah Parsons to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two star playmakers and hefty draft compensation.
Three weeks ago, Micah Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys in a lengthy social media post. The four-time Pro Bowler cited frustrations with the lack of progress in extension talks and said they had no communication with his agent, preferring to negotiate with Parsons directly instead.
Parsons has been eligible for a contract extension since last year, but Jerry Jones prioritized (and completed) new deals with quarterback Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. Yesterday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said he’s “comfortable saying” that Parsons won’t finish his career in Dallas.
With a divorce seemingly inevitable, the Cowboys are better off taking the best offer for Micah Parsons. Former New York Jets GM, Miami Dolphins executive, and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum proposed a blockbuster trade scenario that has Dallas sending Parsons to the Bucs for star running back Bucky Irving, Pro Bowl defensive tackle Vita Vea and a first-round pick:

On paper, this isn’t a bad offer by any means. Dallas would get a 1,000-yard rusher on a rookie deal, one of the league’s best run defenders and a first-round pick for their franchise player. Jones could certainly do a lot worse.
A rumor surfaced last week that the Green Bay Packers submitted a trade offer to the Cowboys for Micah Parsons, though it’s unclear if that was actually the case. The bottom line is that any team with the cap space and trade assets to get Micah Parsons should have significant interest in a deal.
Tampa Bay isn’t quite in the tier of “elite” teams with the likes of the Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders or Los Angeles Rams. But getting a player of Parsons’ caliber would instantly turn them from “good team” to “great team.”
The Bucs have one of the league’s best front sevens led by Vea, Lavonte David, Haason Reddick and Calijah Kancey. If Parsons is available for the right price, why not make the move?
