Inside The Star
Now that the Dallas Cowboys 2025 season is officially over, outside of the teams in the playoffs, we know the draft order for most of the NFL squads.
Dallas, after finishing 7-9-1, they will pick 12th in the draft for the second season in a row. Also note that they also own the Green Bay Packers first round pick in April as well.
We won’t know what pick that will result in until the Packers playoff run is over. They play the Chicago Bears on the road Saturday night on Amazon Prime.
So, like I noted above, the Cowboys will pick 12th after the loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.
Losing that game actually helped them, as they were slated to pick right outside the top 20 at pick 17 if they won that game, so good for them for sitting all the starters after the first half.
Let’s not be fooled here, the Cowboys sitting at pick 12 are going to be in a prime position to get a defensive stud that they need in the worst possible way.
The #Cowboys officially have the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. The last player they drafted 12th — Micah Parsons.
They need to replicate that pick.
The Green Bay first-rounder will be determined based on where they finish the postseason.

Just looking at a quick draft board, Dallas needs secondary help more than anything. The cornerback class is not very strong this year, but Mansoor Delance from LSU is the best in the draft, and he very well could drop right into their lap.
If not him, a guy like Sonny Styles, a linebacker from Ohio State, would be nice also. The linebacker play will need some help behind Overshown. Man was it bad this year as well.
I think the Packers are going to lose to the Bears this weekend, so if that does happen, it would put the Packers at a record of 9-8-1, and would give the Cowboys their pick around the 21 or 22 mark.
I am not exactly sure how that will all play out just yet, but if they do go down, that is the range that Dallas would be picking after dealing them Micah Parsons a week before the season started.
What they do on that side of the ball in the first round is going to depend on if they can get a guy like Jadeveon Clowney to re-sign with them.
He did not even start with the Cowboys until week 4 and led the team with 8.5 sacks, including three yesterday in the season finale against the Giants.
He is one of the VERY few that is worth bringing back for the defense. The rest of that side of the ball can kick rocks.
I expect Matt Eberflus to be let go here within the next 10–12 days. If...
