The Cowboys will host Kansas City on Thanksgiving Day at AT&T Stadium.

The full NFL schedule will be released later this evening, but the league has made a habit of officially leaking several games in the days prior for a couple of years now. Earlier this week we found out that the Dallas Cowboys will visit the Philadelphia Eagles in the season-opener on Thursday, September 4th.

Wednesday morning brought news as well. The Cowboys will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day. That’s right. Get ready.

Typically the NFL does not necessarily give the Cowboys a huge opponent on Thanksgiving given that people are going to watch no matter what. The theory is that there is no need to burn something significant that could be wisely utilized elsewhere.

Clearly that is not the case this year. One could argue that Kansas City is the biggest draw of all home opponents who the Cowboys have in 2025. Playing them on Thanksgiving will make the holiday all the more large now.

Interestingly, even though Patrick Mahomes is incredibly decorated to this point in his NFL career this game will mark his first start at AT&T Stadium. He was a rookie and the Chiefs were starting Alex Smith at quarterback when Kansas City last visited. You will remember that game as the one where Tyreek HIll scored on the crazy Hail Mary at the end of the first half.

Who is ready for Thanksgiving Day now?
