Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is excited to work with his new target in George Pickens. He thinks the Cowboys are putting together “a nice group of weapons” with CeeDee Lamb and Pickens.

“You turn on the tape, you see a guy that can catch the football,” Prescott said on 96.7 The Ticket, via Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com. “You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50/50 catcher. He thinks it’s his ball when it’s in the air. I’m excited for him. I know we needed some help at that position.”

Prescott echoed Pickens’s belief that defenses can’t double both of their top wideouts, which could give Dallas one of the most prolific passing offenses in the NFL.

The Cowboys are very bullish on the addition of Pickens. They believe they have their next Dez Bryant.

“He’s an uber competitor, and we had one in Dez Bryant who was the same way. I mean, he just couldn’t get enough,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said during an appearance on Mad Dog Radio. “And boy, when the lights came on and his cleats hit the turf, he was a different guy. And it feels like George is going to be that way. He certainly sometimes plays with high emotion and that can, as we all know, when you’re playing sports and you’re competing and you’re playing with a lot of emotion, sometimes you can make a wrong decision here and there.

“But, we had that with Dez, but certainly he knows he wants to continue to get his hands around that, just like Dez worked at it all the time. And we feel like that it’s certainly worth what comes with that in terms of what he’s doing to continue to get better when he’s out there competing week in and week out.

“And I know, all the homework we did, he’s well loved by his teammates. They want him on their team. And we felt the same way about Dez. And we just feel like he’s gonna bring something here to our organization that we need in terms of an edge and bringing that energy of competition to the field, day in, day out, week in, week out.”

Pickens mentioned “building a winning culture” numerous times during his introductory press conference with the Dallas media last Thursday. He’s also excited to play with quarterback Dak Prescott.

“I feel great. I like the mojo here. I like the swag. I feel like they have a great thing going for sure,” Pickens said. “I’m grateful to be here. I’m grateful to play with Dak.”

Pickens said Prescott was one of the first people that reached out to him.

“Just watching his game over the years, he’s a very prolific quarterback. Smart quarterback at that,” Pickens said.

Stephen Jones thinks Pickens will be a perfect duo with CeeDee Lamb. Dallas also sees him more than just a No. 2 wideout.

“We think of him as more...
