The Cowboys are opening training camp with a handful of players on the PUP list and Shavon Revel on the Non-Football Injury one.
The Dallas Cowboys are officially in Oxnard for training camp and will hold their first practice on Tuesday afternoon. It is football season.
What with camp getting started there are certain logistical matters for the team to tend to and one of those is establishing which players are and are not available. On Monday morning (a little before the team’s annual State of the Union address) it was reported by ESPN that Trevon Diggs, DeMarvion Overshown and Josh Butler are opening on the Physically Unable to Perform list and that rookie Shavon Revel is on the Non-Football Injury list.
None of these designations are shocking or should be seen as cause for concern. They are part of the process that we all anticipated each player undergoing in their respective returns to playing for the team. It stands to reason that the team’s brain-trust will provide updates on them in their SotU address that we will provide updates on later on across Monday as well.
For what it’s worth regarding Overshown, who is viewed to be the player of this group with the largest road back to playing, he shared an update over the weekend where he suggested he will be “active” at some point this season. Time will tell what that ultimately means.
