Instant Reactions: Cowboys snap three-game skid with Christmas Day win over Commanders – Ali Jawad, DLLS Sports

The Cowboys snapped their three-game losing streak with a road win in Washington.

This was arguably the worst performance of the season by a Cowboys defense that has cornered the market on being bad.

The Cowboys turned a 21-3 blowout into a fourth-quarter dogfight against a Washington offense playing with a third-string quarterback, Josh Johnson, a 39-year-old playing on his 14th team, all because the defense turned into Santa Claus, giving up yards like gifts on this Christmas Day game.

It was a downright embarrassment.

Washington averaged more than 8 yards per play for much of the game.

Credit quarterback Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense for saving the day. Prescott didn’t have his best game. He was off for much of it but passed for two touchdowns and converted a key fourth down in the fourth quarter to close the game.

It should be the last time Prescott plays this season. He should be in bubble wrap for the season final.

The Cowboys offense wasn’t great on Christmas, but they cashed in when needed most.

LANDOVER, MD – The Cowboys will head back to Dallas on Christmas with a win, improving to 7-8-1 with one game remaining against the New York Giants.

It wasn’t the prettiest game for Dallas, but 21 points on their first three drives and six fourth down conversions plus Dallas’ defense coming up big on third down played a large role in the victory.

Dallas got big individual performances across the board as well, with Malik Davis stepping up in place of Javonte Williams and Jadeveon Clowney showing his veteran savvy for the Cowboys’ defense.

Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott, KaVontae Turpin made Christmas Day history – Blogging The Boys

Dak Prescott and KaVontae Turpin land themselves in NFL record books for their Christmas Day big play.

The Dallas Cowboys made some history on Christmas Day.

In the first half of the Cowboys game against the Washington Commanders, Dak Prescott found KaVontae Turpin for what went as an 86-yard touchdown. It was a huge moment in the game, propelling the Cowboys to a big lead. As it turns out, it made Christmas Day history.

This game marked the 33rd ever NFL contest to be played on Christmas Day and Turpin now has the longest touchdown that the day has ever produced. When the Cowboys season has gone as poorly as this one has, you look for the good anywhere you can, especially on Christmas.

Offensively the Cowboys saw a lot of success during their win, and the collective hope is surely that...
