Cowboys injuries: Updates on Joe Milton, Saahdiq Charles after preseason opener

Joe Milton appears to be fine, for anyone keeping score at home.

The Dallas Cowboys have been dealing with a ton of injuries ever since training camp started and their preseason opener approved to be no exception. Robert Rochelle left the game early with a hamstring injury and Milton appeared to suffer something as the game reached its conclusion. Will Grier finished the game under center, but many were wondering if Milton suffered something severe.

Beyond Brian Schottenheimer noting that Milton is alright, the quarterback himself noted that he is confident that his elbow is going to be fine after taking a hit.

Milton was obviously not the only Cowboys player to suffer an injury as Saturday’s preseason opener wore on. Offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles was dealing with something and it was reported after the game to be a hyperextended knee. The full severity of it remains unknown at this time.

There is some discussion happening on the internet right now about how the Cowboys should consider playing their starters in the preseason (something they did not do on Saturday). It is fair to point out that they are dealing with a ton of injuries so they do not necessarily have the luxury of being able to be picky with this sort of thing.

For what it’s worth the Cowboys are seemingly stumbling into injuries on top of them happening during actual football activities. This literally almost happened to CeeDee Lamb as he wound up in the way of an official at one point during Saturday’s game. Thankfully he is alright.

Hopefully everyone is okay and as healthy as possible soon enough.
