The Cowboys have every right to be feeling a mile high after that win. Unfortunately, the next time they play they will be playing a mile high.
With their feet firmly on the ground.
Denver will be 100% healthy and coming off an incredible comeback win last week.
The Broncos are 5-2 this year and lead the AFC West, against Dallas’ 3-3-1 mark. The records of the teams the Cowboys have either tied or lost too in 2025?
It stands at 19-8-1.
The combined records of the teams Dallas has beaten in 2025, you ask? A paltry 5-16.

Yes, Denver had to pull off an incredible rally last week to beat the Giants. But Dallas also fell behind to New York and had to come-from-behind four times before winning in overtime.
Today’s game will be a much better measuring stick of where the Cowboys are and where they are heading.
This is going to be a difficult game for the Cowboys. Not only are they battling a tough, young team, they’ll battle the thinner air at the higher altitude in Denver.
The good news is that running back Javonte Williams is used to running at that elevation as a former member of the Broncos.
History is not in favor of the Cowboys in this scenario. The Broncos hold a 9-5 series advantage over the Cowboys.
Denver has won the last seven meetings between the two teams and nine of the last 11 overall.
The last time Dallas beat the Broncos, you ask? 1995 at Texas Stadium after Dallas had beaten the Broncos in Denver in 1992.
The Broncos had won the previous two meetings, in 1980 and 1986, both in Denver, where the Broncos hold a 5-3 advantage over Dallas.
The Cowboys had won the first three meetings. The first in Denver in 1973 and the second in 1977 at Texas Stadium.
The third win came less than a month later when Dallas won Super Bowl XII, 27-10.
In Week 8 games, Dallas is 36-21 overall, but just 12-11 when on the road. They lost a scheduled game to the 1982 strike and have had seven bye weeks fall on the eighth week.
This will be the first Week 8 meeting ever between the two teams.
If you go back to August 21st, in the middle of my series of week-by-week picks, you’d find that after seven weeks I had Dallas sitting at 3-4.
Not every week has played out exactly as predicted, of course. That tie against the Packers is particularly annoying.
But being just a half-game off is nothing to hang one’s head over.
