Blogging The Boys
It has been a long time since we saw the Dallas Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening night game, one in which the CeeDee Lamb drops make us wonder how this season would have played out if he caught those balls. Either way, that is all in the past. This game on Sunday will be a lot more interesting than people think.
The Cowboys are coming off a win against the Las Vegas Raiders, but everyone beats up on them, so we expected that, but now we will see which Dallas team shows up this weekend.
The defensive line for the Dallas Cowboys has seen many new faces so far in 2025. With Micah Parsons subtracted out, and Kenny Clark, Quinnen Williams, Jadaveon Clowney, and Donovan Ezeiruaku added in, it has been quite the roller coaster of a ride for the defensive line through 11 weeks. It will likely look a little more different in Week 12 with Perrion Winfrey expected to make his Cowboys debut on Sunday.
Winfrey, 25, was one of the players this offseason who impressed in training camp and preseason snaps. He was expected to make an impact along the interior early in the season before injuring his back ahead of the Cowboys Week 1 matchup against the Eagles.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys waived Damone Clark to activate Winfrey from injured reserve to the 53-man roster. With Winfrey now active, rookie Jay Toia could find himself inactive on game day. Winfrey has yet to make a major impact in the NFL since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, but it’s hard to ignore what Winfrey put on tape this past training camp and preseason.
With the Cowboys entering their toughest stretch of the 2025 season, the Dallas defense will need all hands on deck to make a playoff push. Winfrey can surely help provide Matt Eberflus with quality depth along the interior to keep Quinnen Williams, Osa Odighizuwa, and Kenny Clark fresh for four quarters.
