Well, if you did not know after the first six weeks of the season, the Dallas Cowboys defense is far and away the worst in football, and show no signs of getting better, no matter what the owner has to say.
This defense is on pace to not only be worse than the one led by Mike Nolan in 2020, but is well on it’s way to be the worst the league has maybe ever seen.
I am not kidding when I say that, either.
Through the first six games of this season, the Cowboys have allowed 2,470 total yards against them. They are one of just three teams to eclipse 2,400.
They are ranked 32nd in the league, allowed 30 points for the fourth time in 2025, struggling particularly against the run and pass. In the Panthers game, they permitted 216 rushing yards.
Matt Eberflus, and the defense remains a work in progress, running man coverage on only 6.2% of plays, the lowest rate in the league.

The pass rush has been nonexistent, averaging just one sack per game.
The New Orleans Saints gave up a NFL record 7,042 yards in 2012. The Cowboys are on pace to give up 7,402 yards, they are allowing over 400 a game.
Like how can anyone look me in the face and tell me that the way Eberflus is running the defense is not the issue. Like dude this is not working, just try something else, it can’t be any worse!
Not only that, they are on pace to give up an NFL RECORD 116.9 passer rating. They have made every single QB look good.
What makes this suck even worse is that Dak Prescot is probably playing the best football of his life right now, and he has to score 30 plus points every single week to even give this team a chance.
Outside the Bears game when Lamb got hurt three plays in, they have been in every single football game this year because of the offense and Dak.
He has over a 70% completion percentage, 1,617 yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions.
At the end of the day, the NFC East is honestly still open and the funny thing is, the winner of the Cowboys and Commanders game next week will be in second place after the Bears beat Washington on Monday night.
This team has no chance at making the playoffs, though, unless something is done about the defense that might be the worst in NFL history.
