The Dallas Cowboys are coming for the NFC East title during the 2026 season. Dallas made some aggressive moves this offseason to upgrade the roster on both sides of the ball. Dallas just added a depth piece on offense who shares a name with a Hollywood celebrity.

The Cowboys have signed wide receiver Jaden Smith to a contract, per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Dallas wrapped their first mandatory OTA session on June 2nd. They will resume on June 8th, which will give Smith an opportunity to prove himself right away.

Smith, a 24-year-old wide receiver out of Nevada, joined the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in July of 2025. Tampa waived him with an injury designation from training camp and spent his rookie season on injured reserve. The Buccaneers officially released him in April, paving the way for him to sign with the Cowboys.

Smith is a fascinating receiver prospect who could compete for a roster spot in Dallas. He stands tall at 6-foot-6 and boasted a solid 62 receptions for 849 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his final college football season.

The Cowboys are clearly looking to add more depth at the wide receiver position this offseason.

Dallas also brought in SMU receiver Romello Brinson for a workout on Monday. He is the cousin of legendary NFL wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Brinson has since signed with the Cowboys.

Now the Cowboys have a whopping 13 wide receivers on the roster, which certainly gives them options during OTA practices.

It will be interesting to see how many receivers Dallas carries over into training camp later this summer.
