Terrell Owens played wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys from 2006 to 2008, bringing star power and controversy to the franchise during his three-season stint. Signed as a free agent after productive but turbulent stops in San Francisco and Philadelphia, Owens quickly became the Cowboys’ top target. Known for his elite athleticism, physicality, and big-play ability, he recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons in Dallas and led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in 2006, with 13 scores. Owens was named All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl while helping elevate Dallas’s offense to one of the league’s most explosive units.

Best known for:
Owens was best known for his highlight-reel catches and outspoken personality, bringing flash and fire to the Cowboys’ offense and leaving an undeniable impact on the field with his touchdown production. His popcorn throw to himself after scoring against Green Bay is one of the most iconic NFL images in league history.

Lesser known fact:
Despite his fame as a football player, Owens was also a collegiate basketball player at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and even participated in track, showing off the all-around athleticism that helped make him become one of the most physically gifted wide receivers in NFL history.
