Chuck Howley played linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys from 1961 to 1973, becoming one of the most accomplished and respected defenders in franchise history. Known for his speed, instincts, and coverage ability, Howley was a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro. He played in two Super Bowls, famously being named Super Bowl V MVP, the only player from a losing team to ever win the award. Howley helped lead Dallas to victory in Super Bowl VI, solidifying his legacy as a cornerstone of the original Doomsday Defense.

Best known for:
Howley was best known for being a playmaking linebacker with elite athleticism, and for making history as the only Super Bowl MVP from a losing team.

Lesser known fact:
Before his time with the Cowboys, Howley briefly retired from football in 1960 due to a knee injury while with the Bears, only to return a year later and go on to build a Hall of Fame career in Dallas.
